Spinal accessory nerve traction injury
Hello! I have a spinal accessory nerve axonal injury, sounds like from positioning in open heart surgery. Prognosis is poor based on EMG, could be 2 yrs out before I see any return. I've got no trapezius or SCM activity. Thankfully no pain, but I know the secondary pain syndromes due to movement imbalance can a possibility if I'm not smart about protecting my right arm. Just wanted to see if there were others who experienced a similar fate. I know my incident is rare, more often with my fellow SANPs with neck dissection from lymph node removal or cervical cancer. Thanks for allowing me to share, and for the creation of this forum. Tim
