Spiculated nodule in my limgula

Posted by maryk02171 @maryk02171, Aug 14 1:34pm

Hi everyone, they found a 15mm spiculated nodule in my limgula during a lung screening scan. It states suspicious for malignancy. I'm waiting on my doctor to explain it all. Does this mean I have lung cancer how do they finalize that it is lung cancer. Id appreciate any feedback.

Yes, I had my appointment with the Pulmonary doctor and we are moving directly to biopsy. My biopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, Sept. 9th. My follow up with my Pulmonologist is Sept. 16 to review the results of the biopsy. Just having a plan is a relief.

Why didn't they do a ct/pet scan first? After seeing my pulmonologist she ordered a ct/pet scan in a few weeks. Best of luck to you. Post updates please.

Hi, Can you please keep me posted on your journey. I just received almost identical news. I see the pulmonologist this Tuesday, 9/2. My nodule was found on a CT scan from my heart condition, so my cardiologist gave me the news and has sent me to the pulmonary doctor.

I think it was because my doctor feels the nodule was meeting all of the criteria of a malignancy. I told him if I am malignant, then I want it removed ASAP. His response was, then we'll go straight to biopsy. My nodule did not appear is a June CT scan but appeared in an August CT scan. I was having CT scans for an unrelated heart condition. I think the sudden appearance of the nodule was also a factor.
