Sores in mouth
Random occurring mouth sores & lesions with no underlying medical conditions. Does anybody have similar symptoms..? I have chronic sores on tongue that my friend saw and was “horrified”

Hi @jkyc56 I’m wondering if what you’re experiencing is a condition called
Geographic Tongue. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/geographic-tongue/symptoms-causes/syc-20354396
It’s a benign condition that can happen in the mouth with whiteish areas on the tongue, a sensitivity and burning, especially after eating spicy, salty or acidic foods. There’s really no treatment for this, except to avoid the foods I mentioned. It can come and go.
The tongue can look pretty unusual, with smooth, pink areas outlined with white, sometimes feels like burning on the edges or feeling like your tongue is raw on the sides. Often looks like a topographical map, hence the name of the condition.
It’s always a good idea to have it checked out by a dentist just to make sure nothing else is going on, even without underlying medical conditions. You want to make sure it is not a more serious situation.
Does this sound like your symptoms? Have you seen a dentist to get an opinion on what’s happening?
I have seen a few doctors and nobody can truly say what is going on. It is not geographic tongue, was biopsies nothing cancerous. I have had it for 5 years and thinking maybe autoimmune related, or GERD side effects.. have severe GERD.. had surgery twice to try and fix acid splashing up into esophagus. Thought it might help to throw this out to see if anyone else has something like this.. my PCP, dentist, and an oral surgeon seem puzzled.. I was given Clotrimazole troche 10Mg that dissolve in the mouth to try and calm this stuff down.. but they don’t help much just a very short fix for the chronic nature of whatever this is… 😖
I went through something similar. One of the many doctors had suggested an absolutely no sugar diet, which is awful. I did it for a short term, just to check the box. I was down to leafy greens chicken and pork (with just herbs and spices). Lots if supplements. The purpose of the diet was to reduce the sugar to reduce the acid. I had an orange tongue about which I have posted. The most successful treatment was the Clotrimazole tabs followed by clorahexadine mouthwash applied to my tongue with Q-tips (2 weeks). I also use a metal tongue scraper twice a day. After 2 weeks of this regimen the orange tongue went away. I went through many treatments, diets and docs.
I have not looked at my tongue for weeks!
Just a comment. Sounds to me like one of mine, apparently a condition called "Muir-Torres". My dentist just calls them "torries". MT may (and probably does) link to LGMD, such as my LGMDr23, or even FKRP or Gelsolin, with macroglossalalia. Anyway, tiny pyramids, smaller than BBs, form in mouth, with white circles or areas, etc. My dentist said it was non-cancerous. . In any case, mine are spreading around my body from wrists to scalp for about 5 years. Perhaps two or three per year in mouth, mostly under tip of tongue. But externally, I usually have 10 to20 on my upper body, with 8 in my mouth. So far, the MTs do not go away. oldkarl
I had stomach ulcer and after one week this sore comes up on my left retromolar trigone area of my mouth 5days ago…mild pains…brush it and the sore came out then blood ….met a doctor today ….said I should use mouth wash….anybody ever had this type of sore before
Datty, did you doctor prescribed a specific mouthwash?
Yes …. Listerine
The doctor said my sore is too little for biopsy….so am planning to see a dentist
So i noticed a growth on the top of my mouth above my teeth, it wasn’t painful for a while, but now it’s starting to get painful. I’m getting headaches that are blinding my neck hurts my teeth hurt my mouth hurts and now it’s starting to hurt my back. I’ve been trying to get into the dentist but they won’t call me back or anytime I call it just goes to voicemail. I’m about to just go up there and force him to see me because this is very painful. I was just wondering if anybody has experienced this I’m worried it could be something serious. Thank you.
I would schedule a visit with an ENT and have it checked out.
