Solitary fibrous brain tumor WHO Grade 3.

Posted by suemarie3 @suemarie3, Jun 18, 2023

Surgeon thought it was a benign meningioma, tumor removed Feb 28, pathology was malignant.
6 weeks of radiation for small section not removed.
MRI in 2 weeks to check tumor .
Has anyone had this type of rare tumor?
Any info?

This makes me want to get a biopsy of mine. My doctors are telling me it is either meningioma or schwannoma.
How long were u watching the tumor? Was it a slow growth? One of my doctors said mine could be that, so now I’m worried!

I had MRI on 2/11/23.
4.5 mass, compatible with brain neoplasm.
Went to James Cancer center at Ohio State.
Stealth MRI on 2/22, neurosurgeon thought it was a benign meningoma.
Pathology came back malignant.
Rare tumor-solitary fibrous WHO. Grade 3.
6 weeks of daily radiation.
PET scan last week….
No metastasized to my organs!
God is good, my Cancer team was amazing!
MRI next week to see if small piece of tumor that was left after my craniotomy is gone or shrunk.

Yes I have. I had a 5.2 cm solitary fibrous tumor removed from the left side of my face and temporal area. It was surgically removed at the Mayo Clinic last summer. Did your tumor come back malignant?

I also have a similar solitary fibrous tumor in my brain, which has metastasized to other areas. I would like to connect with you and others with similar concerns.

I have a Solitary Fibrous Tumor in each lung. They are small and non cancerous. So far they are leaving them alone at this time.
