Soap residue - Nebulizer

Posted by wsbme74 @wsbme74, Apr 24 9:12am

Hi. I am traveling now and have been soaking nebulizer equipment in Dawn and then rinsing well (I thought!) and drying, using only 2x per day and then moving on to another cup set. I noticed - after a minute or two and some burning in the throat - that the levalbutirol solution in the cup was bubbling more than usual. I realize I must not have rinsed the Dawn as well as I thought I had! So, now my anxious Bronchiectasis mind is worrying about having introduced that potentially into my delicate lungs! I usually make sure to stay in places with stoves, etc., but hard in NY! I nebulized saline straight after and airway clearance but wonder if anyone else has "slipped up" like this and what they've done?

Thanks!

I recommend you use Seventh Generation Free and Clear. Rinse well and you should not experience the soap residue.

Thank you! I had been using Dawn successfully since it’s recommended by Dr. Falkinham, but maybe not worth the risk especially when traveling and I can’t have my usual routine.

You can also do a rinse with a bit of vinegar or alcohol to remove the residue, followed by fresh water.
