Small bump near one ear, unsure if it’s a lymph node

A few days ago, I noticed a small bump near only one of my ears. It felt hard and maybe pea-sized, and when I push it, it didn’t move. It doesn’t hurt, but I’ve been touching it a lot and it’s felt irritated after that. It doesn’t seem like a pimple and it feels too hard to be a pimple or like it’s bone instead maybe. I didn’t know or think that it’s bone though because it’s only on one side, and I don’t have the same spot on my left and right side.
Does this sound like a swollen lymph node? I have a picture but I wasn’t able to attach it, I’ll try again though

In early 2006 I had a small lump on left side - just behind the ear, and a couple of weeks later, another one appeared on same side - that was when I decided a visit to my family doctor - who sent me for blood test. Results - cancerous cells!!
It was stage IV nasopharyngeal cancer - and radiation and chemo had to commence ASAP.
Suggestion -- make appt with your family doctor for tests.

@josk I’m sorry you went through that, but I’m glad you’re doing better. If it’s alright asking, was the bump underneath hair, or was it not covered by anything? The spot I have is covered by hair and feels like maybe a pea sized bump, but I’m not sure what it is

@nicole2006 the 1st bump or node was just behind the left ear lobe, and just behind the jaw bone, the 2nd one was beside the 1st one; definitely not anywhere near the hairline.
suggest - get an appt with your doctor - just to get peace of mind!
