How long has this been going on? Is it constant or intermittent? Have you had any major life changes just prior to the onset?
Hi Amanda, Thank you so much for this helpful info:)
I'm not on any medications. This all started in the beginning of May 2021. I thought maybe that I had a stroke but apparently the CT that I had in mid June was inconclusive as well as the MRI in Aug. I had another MRI on my mouth and throat in late Oct as well a echocardiogram and all inconclusive.
My 83yr old Father has amyloidosis. He was only diagnosed last year and has had it for at least 30+ yrs. I had some blood work for this disease and so far it doesn't look like I have this disease.
Although my father tell me the only way they detected the amyloidosis was what he called a "nuclear scan" of his heart, as that's where his is.
As far as life changes I might have had a couple of stressful/ traumatic event that happened in my family home, previous to noticing the change in my speech. the events didn't happen directly to myself but however stress in my home that of course effects myself as well. For the most part my family home is fairly healthy and stable.
Some days my speech and ear buzzing may be worse than others, as for my tongue it is always scalloped. Evenings seem to be more symptomatic. Alcohol makes it worse and I'm wondering if certain food might aggravate it as well. I have started to eliminate the things that I think make it worse and hoping to see results from diet.
My Dentist want to see if I might TMD but I don't have any pain at this point. I am willing to try wearing an aplyence in my mouth to see if that might be the cause .
Because my throat and mouth MRI came inconclusive my doctor is dismissing a referral to a ENT. This make me uncomfortable.
