What to do for sinus drip?

@jaxtapoze I do use it. It works for about 3 hours. I've started using a lot more of it and it's helping.

Try AstePro azelastine nasal antihistamine spray instead of pills. You can adjust the number of sprays each nostril to how dry it makes you. I only need one spray each side one time a day.
It has helped me tremendoully.

Has anyone suggested Atrovent? It has a drying affect on your sinuses.

When I eat some nerve stimulates mucus for me and my PCP wants me to try Atrovent 1 hour before eating. I have tried it and yes it does dry up sinus drainage.

So the ENT tells you to talk to your PCP? Wow, that is usually the opposite. ENT is specialist in ear, nose, throat. If I got that response from my ENT I would asked to see another.

This sinus drip has now started me coughing again! I'm so sad that I can't get this stopped. All my Dr says is it's allergies with some improving asthma. Sometimes it feels like I'll choke to death. I'm a fairly fit 75 year old woman. I get 5000 steps a day. I use an inhaler, cortisone nasal spray with Azalastine (which gives me a headache). I have tried every antihistamine there is. I use humidifiers, and hepa filters. I only take Losartin, Potassium and Vitamin D. I live alone in a very small town and its 120 miles to specialists. The ENT says my sinus look great, no polyps. I asked him why so much sinus drip and he said, I don't know, ask your primary doctor. I hate that guy! Makes me not want to drive 120 miles to see any doctor! The drip makes my throat feel like pins and needles. Coughing clears it and it stops for a bit. Chewing gum (Cinnamon sugar free) or Halls menthol lozenges help. Any ideas?

My allergist has me taking Allegra which you can buy OTC without prescription. It has helped me a lot with the dripping and resulting coughing. I did not have allergies until I was 43 and it turned into asthma as noted in a trip to the ER. The 120 mile drive just might be worth it…

Not yet as it's 120 miles. I'm doing so much better. As the cooler weather comes back, here in Palm Springs, Ca my allergies are much better. My post nasal drip is getting better as well. If it doesn't clear up, I'll get testing.

@dcypherzzz - I think that may be true for me, as well, that I'm adding more chemical sensitivities as I age.

Have you decided whether to inquire about doing allergy testing?

@dcypherzzz I really need to get allergy testing. Yesterday after my cleaning company left, I seemed to have a reaction to some chemicals they used. I believe I'm getting more sensitive as I age.

I'm going to say the specific antibiotic. I think I had some kind of pertussis bug from 9 months ago that was hard to kill? I had whooping cough and I think nothing could kill it until I took erythromycin 500 delayed release for 10 days. I still have my allergies tho, with some post nasal drip, but no coughing. I'm actually considering moving to a area without farming!
