Side effects several months after pleural effusions?

Posted by civilboilerwife @civilboilerwife, Jan 22 10:20am

I had about 11 pleural effusions from February - May 2025, which thankfully I have not had since May. I workout (Bootcamp) three times a week and lately have had some pain on my cancer side (mostly controlled with heat/ice/pain meds/lidocaine patches) but there's some lingering/annoying aches (as best as I can describe). A few times I've woken up with what seems like a muscle pain that again goes away with the above protocol. When I take a deep breath, I can feel a "crinkly" feeling (very hard to explain). Anyone else in my same boat?

@civilboilerwife, did you get this checked out by your doctor to rule out another pleural effusion? Or did it turn out to be muscle related and maybe a job for physio?

I did see my onco on Monday and he tends to agree with my theory of Anastrozole and exercising. He listened to my lungs and didn't hear anything of concern. He did offer to move my scans up to be sure 🙂

Coincidentally, my health care provider partnered up with Sword Thrive which is a digital physical therapy benefit for back, joint and muscle pain for $0. They are sending a kit that can track my movements and offer up stretches that will help, all virtual.

God is so good and heard my pleas.
