Sick in morning, but fine at night

Confusing. Sick many mornings and early afternoons with covid symtoms, but almost normal at night. Anyone else have this situation?

Greg,

I also have what one might describe as nausea, but it feels to me more like discomfort and irritation in my bowels, accompanied by mild diarrhea. This could be an LC symptom, or maybe just irritation caused by one tall early-morning coffee, though the upset GI started only in recent months.

Is it possible that you have reflux? My reflux is what they call silent. When I wake up I feel nauseous sometimes. I use a ramp pillow so the acid doesn’t get into my esophagus. I use Pepcid when I feel sick.

Yes, that definitely happens to some people. It’s actually pretty common for viral symptoms—especially with COVID—to fluctuate throughout the day. Your immune system has a circadian rhythm too, and inflammation tends to spike in the morning. You might feel fine by evening, only to wake up feeling awful again.

If you haven’t already, it’s worth doing a rapid test when the symptoms are strongest, since viral load can vary over the day. Hope you get some solid rest and feel better soon.

Yes, I feel it during the day when I lay down, but not at night (so far). There is a burning on the bottom of the feet as well. I count them as 2 symptoms along with daytime exhaustion that eases up somewhat around 3 PM.

Thanks Mclelland1958
Thankfully no. But have had it in distant past. Hopefully yours resolves too. Good luck.
