How to manage SIBO symptoms?
My wife, after years of suffering from debilitating nausea and fatigue, has finally been diagnosed with SIBO as confirmed by a hydrogen breath test. It is estimated the bacteria has had at least two years to grow and may be well established. She has started on Xifaxan, at $35 per pill, but it is estimated that elimination of the SIBO may take up to six months. Her day now starts with her waking up with nausea and when she has a cup of tea and toast in the morning she gets sick within fifteen minutes thereafter. Her sickness is accompanied by violent belching, and at times she regurgitates liquid vile. The only drug she has for nausea is Zofran which does nothing for her. Are there any other SIBO sufferers that are experiencing the same symptoms, and what are you taking to reduce the nausea?

ANYTHING is worth trying at this point. I am on day 12 of being drained and dizzy. I believe my vitamins are totally depleted. The pro-bio I am trying to really harsh (small white tablets that are hard to swallow). I am on the 14 day challenge with Activia, but soon want to start maintenance tablets. Thanks for sharing. BTW, Herb.com had a better deal.
Please don't eat activa, worthless and full of sugar!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! I NEED THE TEST KIT FOR SIBO, I HAVE BCBS BUT CAN'T FIND ANYONE THAT TAKES MY INSURANCE. I AM DIDABLED AND CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY THE OUTRAGEOUS PRICE FOR THIS TEST! I LIVE IN FLA AND MY DR CAN'T FIND THE KIT ANYWHERE@! PLEASE HELP!! I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE!!!
Try http://www.amazon.com/Sibo. good luck.
Here is the name of the lab that did my test, maybe they can guide you: Commonwealth Laboratories, LLC. They are located in Belfast, ME 04915-4033. Here is a number listed on my "billing", but they might also be able to help: 978-599-1380. I would try that number and ask for customer service. I have to warn you, without insurance, my bill would have been $6,540.80. I ended up paying 108.79. We lost our insurance two months back and now we are trying to get another company. My gastro doctor had the kit in his office, so I am not sure how much help I can give you.

Commonwealth went out of business, thanks anyway.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME "WHAT TO EAT???" I am so tied of hearing "eat this, no don't, eat that, OH no that bad for you".....no one seems to know what diet to follow. The FODMAP diet is a joke!! Half the stuff on there I can eat due to my re-flux and the other half is horrible! I know to avoid sugar (SIBO) and acid foods (re-flux), so what's left?? I am going to try the gluten free for now UNLESS someone clues me in on another way to go....so frustrated!!!
After battling acid reflux for years the best diet I've found is Paleo. I cannot eat fruit which is part of the diet and after cutting out fruit my whole system changed in a few days. I don't avoid the "acid foods" but I do know the foods to avoid since I have a very bad reaction to them. If your on PPI's it takes several months to wean off them or you'll have rebound and never find out what foods bother you. Wean off the PPI's, most doctors don't agree with this and think they are fine but they have many side effects. Only supposed to be taken for 14 days, I was on them for 19 years. Very hard to get off them. Even after LINX surgery I still had to take Zantac twice a day until I changed mt diet, now I don't take anything! Try Paleo,
