Should I still have a lot of pain and stiffness 10 months after TKR?
Still a lot of pain, stiffness and swelling 10 months after TKR. Is this normal? I had a problem with arthrofibrosis and had mua after 10 weeks. Does this ever go away?

I think you’re right. How did you discover that the implant was the wrong size?
My knee is very swollen after 10 months. I’m trying shockwave therapy for the arthrofibrosis.
Hope things get better for you.
After three and half year it is still pinching and feels tight. Even oxicodine makes no difference to this pain
According to surgeons X-ray does not show ant problem. So they ignore it. Consulted no of surgeons in US and other countries Since this pain and tight band feeling around knee happened after surgery - it is result of the surgery. With process of elimination this is the conclusion we arrived
For swelling - did they drain your knee to take fluid out. I knee was swollen and I was buckling and falling down. Even after drainage swelling comes back. Blood work was done and wefound out surgeons placed nickel instead of titanium in my knee Iwas highly allergic to nickel. Revised surgery was done to remove nickel but surgeons did not correct implant size. It was not listening to patient and not admitting their mistake by surgeons. End result is only thing left is third surgery which is very risky or learn to live with it.
My best wishes for your recovery.

1 ReactionAfter my TKR I saw my surgeon at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months out! My next visit, unless a problem arises, is at the 5-year mark. I certainly don't feel abandoned. I had to message his office once or twice when my dentist or other doctor had a question about prophylactic medication, and I received a prompt response. We need to check reviews and get some background information before choosing doctors. As for the implant size -- I recently read that it has now been determined that SHOE size is a better determination of implant size needed than height. The only thing I remember about my surgeon seeing me in recovery when I was groggy, is that he said, "You have a big knee." LOL. I do have big feet for my height! I've read that they bring a variety of implants into surgery so that when they open the knee they can choose appropriately. This might not always happen! I noticed that the orthopedic questionnaire now asks for shoe size.
