Should I have an IOVERA injection before a TKR?

I had a TKR on my other knee 14 years ago and I survived without IOVERA. Wondering if the risks outweigh the benefits,

@lindielulu Hi, again! I'm so glad you are on the 'other side' of the surgery! Mine isn't until the 20th...Don't fret so much about extension! I'm sure you will get there soon! I am having a huge amount of doubt (to have the surgery) and fear! Hearing and reading everyone's experience is pretty scary! Take it easy and be happy that the worst is over!!!

@catheem If I could give you advice based on my experience, the surgery was much better than I expected, I was so fearful myself. PT can be challenging but overall I can say I'm glad I did it even though it is very early. If I ever had to do it again, I would take stool softeners several days before the surgery, I think that would have made a big difference. I will be thinking and praying for your successful experience on the 20th, please let us know when you feel like it. I didn't get on the computer for the first 2 weeks, just couldn't do it, but that's just me. I was told sleep is the main goal, at least the first week. I slept in my bed from day one, no recliner. Still struggling with sleep but they say that is normal. Thinking of you! I would ignore the negative stories if I had to do it again, but I was like you, those were the ones that stuck in my mind

@lindielulu - Thank you for your 'mental' support!!! It's an emotional, as well as a physical journey to take, and I just want to be on the other side of it! LOL!! Keep your positive attitude, and you'll be good!!! PS - how long did your nerve block last? If we've discussed this already (too lazy to look up at our conversation LOL) then sorry...I have been more worried about it wearing off too fast more than anything else!
