Short video on nebbing saline
Hi all, I just made a video about how I nebulize saline to manage bronchiectasis. I've never actually seen a video of someone doing all this stuff, so I made one myself!

So nice of you to share!
Very nice job Nina! Do you want to demonstrate huff coughing for our members too?
Thank you Nina. Do you put a cloth at the bottom of the pan?
Very brave of you! Thank you for sharing. Cough-ee cup LOL
Maybe I missed something but did the video jump straight to sterilizing after rinsing? It’s really important to clean first (soap and water) before sterilizing. Sterilizing works best on already clean equipment—otherwise it doesn’t fully remove residue or biofilm. Just thought I’d mention it in case it helps others following along!
I have a round metal rack at the bottom of my big pot, just in case something wants to sink to the bottom. But so far everything has floated near the top.
I would, but no one has trained me personally in that, and I seldom do it. Currently I'm just doing this Aerobika-nebbing plus exercise (I'm back to 100km and 100-mile bike rides!) and occasional as-needed nasal lavage. Everything coming out of me has been clear for weeks, and of that very little (when I started I coughed up about one-third to half a cup per session).
I do NOT want to be back to where I was this spring: coughing so much I couldn't talk, falling to every pathogen in town, very sick for two-and-a-half months and getting worse. I think I have avoided a MAC/NTM infection thus far, and want to keep it that way. I think just get way sicker way longer from common illnesses than normal people, which is what led to my CT scan & diagnosis May 4th.
Wow- that is one big nebuliser! I would not have time to spend 25 minutes doing that twice daily. I have just bought an Omron mini air 360+ it is silent and so far so good. I am using 3% saline to start with. I do the rest of my airway clearance after the nebuliser. I manage to clear a lot of mucus. I am trying to avoid going back on the big 3. My NTM returned and I want quality of life. I am still working and I had to take some time off before when I was on the big 3 for 14 months. I know some people have no reactions etc but I did. I am reluctant to take such awful meds and this time I know what it would be like. Good luck to you. Very brave of you to do the video!
Thank you so much. That really helped me have an idea about nebbing. I am somewhat overwhelmed. I will watch your video again. You have everything so well organized. I can't even imagine doing this every day, but I guess I'd better get used to the idea. Thanks again. Roz
You didn’t miss anything. She said she never uses soap because she boils every day. I agree with you, the soap breaks up the biofilm on the equipment. I rinse and soak with Dawn free and clear unscented then boil. I don’t agree with not covering the equipment for drying either. I take mine from boiling into the Bololo sterilizer/dryer and run the full cycle with the cover on. I do four sets and leave it covered removing as needed until time to sterilize them all again.
Not everyone does it the same way, but this is what I settled on after much research and advice.
