Does anyone have short bowel syndrome?
5 years ago I had a small intestines blockage and had to have all but 2 feet of my small intestines removed. I was on TPN and a feeding tube for a couple years years now I am eat food. I am able to eat most foods except raw vegetables and high fiber foods.
Over two years ago I started having constant abdominal spasms and constant nausea, doctors don't know what is causing it. The spasms feels like someone is twisting my insides and some pressure. Nausea medications don't help with the nausea.

@tjanet Your experience sounds very frustrating. Have you considered seeing a different doctor within the practice, or to a different practice?
Would going to Mayo Clinic or another highly regarded GI center be a possibility for you?
Here is a link to information on starting the appointment process at Mayo if you are interested.

2 ReactionsBecause of my Short Bowel Syndrome, my constant upper left abdominal pain could be related to splenic arteries/vascular abdominal pain. But my GI doctor doesn't think so but he doesn't specialize in Short Bowel Syndrome.
@tjanet centers like Mayo Clinic are multidisciplinary, and it is possible to see multiple different specialists in one trip. You sound like you are at a standstill with your current doctors and not getting the relief you want.

I don't have the money to go to Mayo. I don't have family support with my health conditions.
I went to University of Washington medical center in Seattle Washington about 5 years ago, but only went for one appointment because my family don't think I need to see a specialist.
@tjanet I am sorry to hear that. It's very difficult to not have the support of your family.
I hope you can find your way to a better result with your current GI doctor, or find a better fit within the practice.

2 ReactionsGoing to go see a new pain doctor in a couple weeks hope he has some ideas on how to treat my constant abdominal pain. I know it is from my Short Bowel Syndrome condition.
Still having constant upper left abdominal pain. Not related to eating. Doesn't change with movements/walking, Doesn't change with bowel movements. My constant upper abdominal pain wakes me up at night so I don't sleep very good.
Kidney or gall stones?
@soohart
Kidneys are good and I had my gallbladder removed a couple years ago.
Just a thought. Glad to hear those are not an issue, though.
