Severe numbness in hands from neuropathy

Posted by tessie63 @tessie63, Apr 8, 2023

I have such numbness in my fingertips and pins and needles in my hands. They are slippery when handling things and they feel like they have bumpy nodules all over them. We tried increasing my pregabalin but this made no difference. Does any one else have this issue and if so what can help this. I am dealing daily with the mental aspect of this. It never goes away and this is so discouraging for me. While I am not in pain with this other than some burning discomfort at times, it affects other aspects of my life. I do hope someone is out there who can help me.

Hi maybe try acupuncture. Also give this a try it's helped me and many others with nerve damage. Go to You Tube and type in Miracle Nerve Regeneration, Repair Nerve Damage, Repair Nerve Damage, Cell Regeneration, Pain Relief Binaural Beats #GV065 Good Vibes. Play the video for a half of an hour at a lower volume. Have the speaker near your hands and you might feel a difference right away. Hope that helps.

Does anyone have it in their hands? The burning , searing pain is un bearable some days, but all the information I find is about it in the feet. I get so frustrated that somedays it brings me to tears just trying to do something simple like type this post...I need to get treatment soon because my mental functions are starting to get uncontrollable. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?? thank you

Hi hwn 67; The first chance you get your PCP would be the one person you should talk with.
I also had the burning, tingling pain in my hands and arms. When I visited my PCP and relayed to him my complaints. The kind doctor next ordered an MRI on my spine especially my cervical neck. Afterwards I visit with my doctor, and he shows me the results of the MRI. What he tells me was that two cervical discs had somehow slipped out from the vertebra and were now compressing my cervical spinal cord. There was one other reason he ordered an MRI and it was because of terrible pain in my neck I had been suffering from for the past two years. I was referred to a neurosurgeon and that part of my body almost overnight was pain free. I had been in two really bad car wrecks and was almost killed in both but some how I survived, and also during my type of work I fell off two houses we were building. And there's more but later.

The numbness I can tolerate. It’s the feeling of having bumps that I can roll around with my fingers that bother me more. It’s upsetting to my mental health because it never goes away and I am constantly moving my fingers around subconsciously now. I am willing to try anything . If I find a solution to this I will keep everyone informed.

I call mine "Pinocchio feet". Tried recently to get back on neurotonin (generic Gabapentin) prescribed at 100 mg 3x a day and 100 mg. knocks me flat. So I quit and put up with the Pinocchio feet and numb left hand. Had carpal tunnel surgery in March and some symptoms gone but numbness remained. Probably cervical spine involvement.

I had been on gaba at 300 mg 3 x a day and weaned myself off for some inexplicable reason. Probably stubbornness that I could conquer PN through my mindset. Silly woman!

I have the numbness in both feet but only my right hand, which is my dominant hand.
Can’t hold a pen to write,or hold objects in my right hand either.
Very upsetting because of small amount of my right hand useage.

I have the numbness in my hands and feet. What I really want to know is does anyone with the numbness have strange feelings in their hands as well? My hands feel like there are lumps all over them and when I wash my dishes it feels like they are able to scrape off the debris for me. It’s hard to explain what they feel like and this is the best way to do it. Even when folding towels the towels feel rough to me. It is strange and I want to feel not so alone with this problem. I know nerve damage does give strange feelings to the body and so far I have found nothing to help this. Not acupuncture, massage, nothing.
