Severe ITP and surgery?
This is for anyone with severe ITP (plt < 30) who has undergone major surgery. How did your hematologist and surgeon mediate your situation with medications/surgical techniques and how did you fare in the short and long terms?

Mine dropped to 30 after aortic valve replacement. It just took time for them to replenished normally.
My daughter was on 70 mg prednisone to get her platelets up to a safe level for surgery. Then they are dropping them slowly and replacing them with Nplate.
