Serratia marcescens post sinus surgery

Posted by amarie1979 @amarie1979, Dec 8, 2023

I am looking for help locating either a plastic surgeon or an ENT that has worked with serratia before.

I was recently diagnosed post an invasive two part sinus surgery with serratia marcescens that landed me in the hospital for nearly a week.

I now have facial deformities that are not improving. I stopped seeing my original Dr.s immediately and have not found someone I feel knows how to handle this situation.

I have been told to look for a plastics that specializes in rhinoplasty revision but that alone is not enough to me if they don’t know how to manage serratia.

I will go anywhere I have to. If you have any contacts, can you please advise.

@amarie1979, serratia marcsecens is a rare and nasty bacteria. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. If you would like to seek an opinion from Mayo Clinic experts, you can submit a request for consultation here:
