Serious potential Abilify side effect

I'm simply posting this for anyone who may be suffering like I did for the 11 years I was on Abilfy. No one told me, including my psychiatrist or pharmacist but Abilify can cause strange compulsive behaviors. If you search Abilify and gambling you will learn what it did to me. I had never been to Detroit casino, which is where I live, until I started waking up in the middle of the night with the strangest urge to gamble. To make a long story short, gambling nearly destroyed my life. As each year passed it became more and more out of control. I was suicidal many times. I was on it for 11 years before I ever learned that it was causing the problem. I stopped Abilify at the end of 2021. I have not been in a casino or even wanted to for a year now. If you take Abilify and are struggling with gambling, compulsive shopping, binge eating or compulsive sexual behaviors please tell your doctor. I truly hope no one else ever goes through what I went through.
