Self referral to Mayo Clinic Jacksonville

I have tried several times to get an initial appointment for my Sjogrens disease neuropathy. Looking for suggestions to get my foot in the door. What has worked for you?

Hello….when you submitted a request for consultation, was your request denied?
I have only tried at Rochester, MN Mayo and others that also submitted a request, have an appointment at Rochester.
I have heard other members say there is shortness of physicians, and sometime getting an appointment can take few months.
Hope you are able to get an appointment.

It sounds like you may have already done this. It is possible that there are currently more requests for appointments in the department that you are applying to than spots available. Did you submit to Internal Medicine or Rheumatology? Have you considered asking your doctor to submit a physician referral on your behalf?

If you have a doctor that you see locally ask them to write a referral letter to Mayo for a second opinion.
The next best thing is to call Mayo & tell them your situation & ask them what is the best way for you to go about getting an appointment with them.
Unless you have received a denial letter from Mayo you might try following up with Mayo in a few weeks to see where you are on their list.
