Seizure medication: Anyone have lacosamide & gabapentin together?

Posted by frankv @frankv, 3 days ago

I’m interested in learning about experience with seizure medication, specifically lacosamide, and gabapentin taken together.

Dear @franky
I’ve used this anti-seizure for the last 4 years! i tried other ones and I had seizure and went to hospital and my doctor added more and more for the last 8 years. Finally, he added this meds and no hospipital of seizure. I’m back of anti-seizure.

12 years ago - in 2012 - I had an accident that started of being a TBI member. But be careful, use your 3 times a day that stopped reizure.

1. LACOSAMIDE 200MG: one morn & one eve
2, LACOSAMIDE, 50MB; Twice-a-day - afternoon
3. GABAPENTIN, 600MG: Two over every morning, afternoon, evening

Thx,
Greg D. @greg1956

PS: the “pain” of GABAPENTIN doesn’t help me; it’s anti-zeisure med

Greg, thanks so much for sharing your experience. I was hospitalized back in late June with seizures which started in the middle of night. None of the testing, including brain MRI showed any abnormality, so we don’t know what the root cause of this seizure event was.
I’ve been on gabapentin 300 mg, three times a day and lacosamide 50 mg, twice a day. I’m currently transitioning to the 100 mg dose, also twice a day.
I’m seizure free since I left the hospital on June 29, so the meds seem to be doing what they’re supposed to do. Neurologist says I’ll probably be taking these meds for the rest of my life.
All the best, Frank

Started this combo in spring of this year after a breakthrough seizure. No known cause just out of the blue.
Prior drugs over the years Tegtrol, Valium, Dilantin, coupled with Cushing disease which lead to osteoporosis .
Good response so far, not interfering with my current drug for CLL

Kobe, thanks so much for sharing your experience with me. Let’s hope this combo continues to work for both of us.
Frank.
