Mohs vs radiation to treat Sclerosing Basal Cell Carcinoma
I've just been diagnosed with a sclerosing BCC right in the middle of my chin under a short beard. Considering both Mohs and Image Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy (IG-SRT). Unfortunately, most studies are over 10 years old. I'm very leery of the cosmetic results (scarring) of Mohs. I've done a ton a research (read many research papers) and the conclusions are often conflicting as to the efficacy of radiation therapy on sclerosing BBC. Some suggest it's equally effective as Mohs while others suggest that if radiation doesn't get it all, that corrective Mohs is difficult and/or not possible. I'm confused. Has anyone use radiation to treat sclerosing BCC? I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks much.
