Firstly, you may want to try comprehensive medical centers or university teaching hospitals in her area. A stem cell transplant can potentially be an option to reverse the autoimmune reaction from this disease. It would give your sister a new immune system, though the transplant can come with its own set of issues. Often siblings are a good match for bone marrow transplants but there is detailed testing required to determine a match for transplant. The cells that you have frozen most likely would not be used for your sister. But if you match biomarkers, you may be asked to donate fresh stem cells for her.

Your idea to have her be seen at Mayo is the best! I had my bone marrow transplant there and I can tell you, Mayo is a place of hope! So I encourage you to request an appointment.
