Hello,

Finally I’m achy for biopsy after 1.5 years of debilitating symptoms. I’m doing extremely poorly. Please let me know if what was your experience and things that worked for you after the procedure.

Blessings of healing 🙏🏻🤍

Bendeka (sp) and retuxtin (sp)… I had chemo in late 2019 just before the pills took over. Chemo is the gift that keeps on giving, I have significant neuropathy in my feet which affects walking and balance. And little to do for it.

I had a bone marrow biopsy about a year ago that went really well. It was over quickly with minimal discomfort. I’ll actually be having another soon.

I had same in Miami and it was horrible. They used only local painkiller. Should have put me under!

I had one done 5 days ago at Memorial West. Had a twilight sleep plus local. Also virtually painless. Just wish someone had told me to put ice packs over the bandage after. It would have helped the soreness

Be sedated then it's not painful

I just had local anesthesia, like novacain at dentist. No pain at all, just pressure, which I'm sure they need to get thru the bone. Afterwards just bruise that went away within week. I think my anxiety was worse than the procedure...try to relax as much as possible.....

I’ve had three of these. The first twilight anesthesia. It actually put me to sleep and I woke up after it was all over.
The second was to be done the same way. After anesthesia was administered, the anesthesiologist started asking what he said were funny, dumb questions like what is your name. I couldn’t see why that was funny. He started making strange faces to the others and someone said let’s do it anyway. It was painful enough to make me scream at the top of my lungs.
The third time my doctor did it (due to the last experience). This had to be done in his office with only a local. There was some pretty painful pokes but bearable.
My recommendation would be have it done with the twilight stuff BUT do not let them start the procedure without your being completely giggling out of it. Take charge if need be. I wish I had.

I had a bone marrow biopsy with only a local. It was awful. They can run into issues during the procedure that causes them to have to have to scoop around for like 20 minutes. Not fun! Therefore, I suggest you insist to be put to sleep. You’ll wake up and go home with very little residual soreness.

I just had mine today! Asked for sedation and other than being sore I wouldn’t know anything was done. My girlfriend who has had to have several due to her cancer said don’t be a hero. Ask for sedation and I did.
