scheduled for a TSR due to OA.
I'm 68 and looking for a TSR to relieve the pain and limitations from my conditions which are only getting worse. I'm still pretty active and ride my bike 50ish miles a week and strength train (lift) 2-3 x week too. I tried Cortisone but it only worked for a few weeks, so this is the next step. Can anyone provide comments on a TSR due to just Arthritis? If I can get past the pain and replace these grinding bone on bone parts, is the pain recovery really just a few days/ weeks? I'm fine with as much PT as they can throw at me!
(I've already a survived a Rotator cuff repair with bicep tendon relocation , which was hell!) so I'm hoping this will be simpler

Had Reverse TSR due to both severe arthritis and torn rotator cuff...6 weeks post op and I've actually had no real postop pain....done with Intraskalene block and followed up with Celebrex and Tylenol around the clock for first two weeks...started PT this week and no pain...have been in abductor sling for 6 weeks...passive ROM exercises at home ....need to sleep in sling ....great experience so far....good luck!!!
I think you should be asking this question to your doctor. WE don't know your history nor your imaging. There are a variety of kinds of OA. You should be confident before you go into surgery but that can only come from your surgeon. Check out his/her reviews, too.
