Scary sound along with ongoing headache
I heard a really weird cracking, crunchy, sort of velcro sounding noise when i had a horrible headache yesterday, this headache has been with me for around a month and a half now, im getting an mri soon but this sound really scared me, anyone know what it might be about? It was in the left side of my head right above my ear.

Hi, @ellie197. Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Having a headache for a month and a half, along with a cracking, crunchy noise, is a long time to deal with these issues. Hoping the MRI will provide you with more answers than you have now.
Do you know the type of headache you have been experiencing? What does it feel like?
May be the trigeminal nerve. It is close to the ear and can cause tinnitus.

Maybe this will help if it might be what you're hearing....unrelated to the headache, or perhaps the headache is a result of what is explained here:

im not sure what type of headache it is, its been coming and going with seemingly no cause, it gets really painful and my prescribed migraine medications did not work. This crunch sound was a one time thing, was just super terrifying because it was along with this mystery headache.
