Scabs after head laceration and stiches

Posted by aviator787 @aviator787, Sun, Apr 21 10:21pm

Hello all,
This is my first post.
I had an accident on my scalp and after removing some stiches 3 months ago I still have some scabs. Is this normal and how long does it take for the scabs to fall?

Thank you
John

Hi @aviator787 and welcome to Connect! That must be frustrating having the scabs now heal yet.

Here is an article about some ways to make sure the scab stays clean, and how to hopefully help them heal faster: https://www.healthline.com/health/how-to-get-rid-of-scabs#causes

Back to you @aviator787 have you discussed this with your doctor?

Thank you very much for your response and the link, very helpful. I received 13 stitches on scalp from falling down from having blacked out. I just find it strange that still after this long and still scabs reforming while sensitive along cut. Is it because it's on scalp and skin is thin? as I have not been applying anything except washing hair with a hypoallergenic shampoo.

Thanks
