San Francisco Bay Area doctor recommendation

Posted by di341 @di341, Nov 24, 2025

Today my Significant Other went to the ER. This is his CT result as shown.

Tomorrow the bile duct will be scrapped for cells to biopsy. Hopefully pancreatic biopsy can take place.

We have UCSF and Stanford as options to transfer his care. I’m looking for experiences, advice of any kind
on where to go and who to see. Any thoughts you may have, please share. I can take frank discussion as I was a caretaker for my late husband for an 8 year battle with leukemia.

I need to get up to speed quickly as I am aware that time could be of the essence.

Thank you in advance, sweet warriors. I’m going into the trenches with you.

Doing tough chemo just after hospital stay must be very draining for him. He should perk up some soon; especially since stents will now help digestion. Be sure your doctor has a dietician on staff. Work with them now to help him build strength and his immune system. His tastes will be changing with chemo so it will be frustrating for you, but persevere! As he begins to eat better, work with him to be outside and walk a bit everyday. Stage 4 is a tough dx;I got it in 2021 . A Journey for sure. With improving strength and HOPE, he can get back to enjoying life. Make sure to get 2nd and even 3rd opinions!!

@gamaryanne thank you for taking your time to reach out.

We made it through the 2nd modified chemo session. One drug was eliminated because of liver failure. It’s been a terribly rough go since.

He was seen at both MDAnderson and Stanford. The cancer keeps creating stent failures leading to more failure at large. He struggling with no relief.

Final update. My Darling passed away on Saturday, 2 months & 2 days past the first symptom and diagnosis. What a beast.
