Welcome @lycisca. The more common side effects listed for Rozlytrek are similar to those for a targeted therapy that I take for ALK+ lung cancer, alectinib. I have taken that one for over 5 years. I agree, I haven't necessarily seen the side effects get worse, but I still struggle with GI issues, fatigue, memory issues, etc.
I'm glad that the medication has been effective for you. These meds are strong and can be life-saving, but they need to allow us to live our lives too.
Did you start Rozlytrek at the time that you were diagnosed? Did you have surgery or a traditional chemo or radiation first?
@lls8000 I'm delighted to find a cancer support group with others taking long-term drugs similar to Rozlytrek where they can share info and experiences.
To answer your questions, yes, I was started on Rozlytrek right after diagnosis. I went into the hospital with bacterial pneumonia and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I had no surgery, chemo or radiation, there were no tumors or nodules to remove. My oncologist started me on the Rozlytrek immediately and, despite the side effects, I have to say it worked. My cancer was in remission 6 months after I started on the drug.
Almost 5 years later, I'm still on it. Yes, the side effects sound a lot like the alectinib you're taking. The GI and fatigue have been the most difficult for me because I used to be a really active person, and occasionally still struggle with the "new normal."
