Riverboat cruise

We are considering a cruise on the Columbia River, traveling through the Pacific Northwest. As a member of this group, of course I have several questions /concerns. Is it considered safe to travel over river water on a large boat? What is the source of water used for drinking and bathing/showering on these kinds of boats.? How will I clean my nebulizer cups? The list goes on and on. If anyone has taken a trip like this or has thoughts on the safety issues involved, I would love to hear from you. Thanks you in advance for your help.

I don't know the answer to most of your questions, but there's is another post about cruising just in past day or so where some of us shared cleaning techniques. You would be able to take vinegar for soaking.
There are thermoses with UV lights that are supposed to kill organisms you could use for drinking.
I believe the risk of being on a big boat on a river would be fairly low especially if you get a higher level room. The air would provide dilution. (Just my opinion.)

Hi -My husband and I went on a Viking rivercruise about a year ago in France. I only drank bottled spring water and took extra bottles to our cabin for rinsing items, washing face, brushing teeth etc. I did not worry about the river water too much; the river was calm without spray. I wore a mask in the shower. I had microwave steam bags with me, and also a foldable electric couldren to boil water. We were in hotels before and after the cruise, and I sought out a microwave to steam nebs daily or boiled my own water to pour over the nebs in the micro bag. Sometimes cruise ships will give you a portable tea pot to boil water in the room. I was lucky on last river cruise-our cabin attendant offered to take my micro bag with nebs to the staff lounge where there was a microwave. Ocean ships don't have microwaves on board due to fire risk. The cruise lines have different policies. We are using Oceania for an ocean cruise this summer and they will not allow my couldren or bring me a teapot, but offered to bring boiling water to my room. Hope this helps and you can relax and enjoy your wonderful trip! K
