Any statistics on what percentage of mesh repairs are successful?

No stats, but I had the mesh procedure for correction of an inguinal hernia many years ago. I’m now 82 and following a quick, trouble free recovery have been trouble-free since.

Hello Thumperguy
I am women, 83 and the one who is looking for mesh stat.
in the inguinal hernia repair.
My concern, if dr.will operate under the general anaesthesia (as hospital procedure) it will trigger my arrhythmia and increase heart rate.
Therefore , I am looking for surgeries outcomes.
Thanks 😊

I'm 79 and just had a bilateral inguinal hernia repair done at Mayo Clinic Rochester in October and they used mesh in the surgery. The recovery has gone quite well so far and things are almost back to normal. I guess I would just want to make sure it was done at a top notch hospital or health facility. Here's a 10 year study on the topic.

Thank you for the message.
I believe, that the surgery procedures and results are varied depending of the people age, overall health, and most important of the surgeon experience !!
The last one not easy to define.
