Parkinson's plus restless leg syndrome
I have Parkinson's disease with restless leg syndrome. I have been using apple cider vinegar gummies. The gummies seem to help my legs.

Oohh - thank you! We have tried mustard, pickle juice, and medication, but apple cider vinegar gummies may be a good option. How many do you take and at what times?
Tagging a few members who may be knowledgeable about Parkinson's and/or restless leg syndrome for what they may know helps the legs @artemis1886 @emhottch @rjjb @ess77. @hopeful33250 also may have some thoughts.
Hello @marcieb and @carolynbluebird, and welcome to the PD support group on Mayo Connect. I understand about the "extra activity" that often takes place at night. I take amantadine, one a day, and I reserve the dose for the evening. It helps keep my limbs quiet during the night. As we all know, not all medications work for everyone, but this has worked for me.
As you are both new to Mayo Connect, please share, as you are comfortable doing so, a bit about your journey with PD. Are you newly diagnosed? What are your most troublesome symptoms?
Thank you both!
I am a caregiver.
I do have a question- how active is the Mayo functional medicine clinic with the Parkonson’s group? I’d love to know more. Do they offer virtual appointments? Are they covered with insurance?
It is a difficult journey trying everything to see what sticks, with so many symptoms!

I do not carry genetics for Parkinson’s or the antigens. Not sure how I got copied in. I use muscle relaxers when my hands cramp up and it hurts. I am on IVIG that is helping with dizziness and balance problems. I am in stage 4 of the neuropathy. I have fallen three times in the last four days. Broke my ankle.
Hi there, I am a patient at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and have been recently prescribed the Neupro patch for Parkinson’s and restless legs. Has anyone tried this patch?
do you have restless legs or REM sleep disorder. The two act differently with the REM sleep disorder causing the patient to thrash around at night because he acts out his dreams. It is one of the first syptoms of Parkinson's.
My husband has PD and RLS. Haven't tried the patch. He couldn't use Carbidopa Levodopa, so he is using Ropinirole to treat both and is doing well.
Ok thanks. Hope your husband is doing well
My husband was diagnosed 3 years ago with Parkinson's. He is 74 years old, a retired Marine Officer, has exercised almost every day of his adult life and continues to do so. His symptoms started as tremor in his right hand. The tremors have not progressed yet. He continues to play golf twice a week and exercise every day. He used to fall asleep the minute his head hit the pillow. Now the worse symptom he has of Parkinson's is what I can only describe as a tingling, creepy crawly feeling in his arms and legs when he lays down to go to sleep. It prevents him from sleeping and he often just gets up and sits in his rocking chair. This is so difficult for him and so sad for me to see this. Anyone have any answers? He takes Melatonin at night and Gabapentin but it doesn't help.
