Resources for Outpatients on the Mayo Jacksonville Campus
This will be my first visit to Mayo Jacksonville, and I don't know how long I will need to be there. What resources are there for outpatients and their families on the Mayo Campus that will not be provided by my hotel? I may need a pharmacy (for new prescriptions), grocery store, clothing store, drug store, post office, or other. I will not have a car. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

And when I refer to being prepared, I mean the following......
Have all your medical records related to your condition and anything else that may be germane to the issue. Have any imaging, lab work, test results, things like EKG, etc. On the imaging, almost all providers today can provide you with a CD/DVD that is a universal format....may have to pay a few buck, but worth it.
While some may say this is redundant even if you have previously sent it to Mayo, it's good to have it in your possession for your own reference, to "read along", and in the event something didn't "get there". My wife has a chronic, complicated condition and we carry the "book" with us for every visit as well as everywhere we travel.
AND lastly, if you haven't set up your portal access, get it done and get comfortable with it. Portal access will be "Your Best Freind" as a Mayo patient........

Thank you for the detailed info. I monitor the Visiting Mayo site, but I only have experience in Rochester, so great to have people who know the Jacksonville site provide information. Including the part about being patient, polite, and flexible. I have seen Mayo security escort people out of the clinic for yelling at the desk attendant and demanding things beyond their control.
