Researchers found manuka honey nebulized with Amikacin very positive

This was done in England by a microbiology team.
They found nebulizing it with Amikacin drastically reduced the amount of Amikacin needed for clearing Abcessus.

I’ve read other research showing manuka kills MAC in vitro, but always figured no way to get honey into our lungs safeLy, and it probably gets so diluted. I’m glad to see they may start actual trials with this now.
The actual study has a link at bottom of the article

How in the world would you nebulize honey?! I'm anxious for my mom to try this!

This is a "not ready for prime time" experiment at this time in the US. Maybe you can talk to your Mom's pulmonologist about finding a clinical trial.
There are a whole lot of reasons not to try this without medical guidance, not the least of which is the need to get medical grade honey from a reliable source. The next would be the danger of introducing a foreign substance to already extremely challenged lungs...can you bring it up to her pulmonologist?
