Renal Artery Dissection

Posted by eugenedebs @eugenedebs, Sep 26, 2021

I have a right-side renal artery dissection/infarction. My doctor wants me to get tested by the vascular team at Mayo, however I can't afford it since I belong to an out-of-state HMO and the U.S. does not yet have single-payer health care like Denmark, Sweden, Germany, France, Canada, Switzerland, Norway etc. Not sure at this point what to do. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Thanks.

Hi @eugenedebs, welcome. Have you contacted Mayo Clinic to see if your insurance may be accepted? Please see this website about Insurance at Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/billing-insurance/insurance
It includes information about
- approval from your insurer
- denied claims
- underinsured options
- contact information

I hope they can help.
