Removing adhesive left on skin after heart monitor use in hospital?
I've been home from hospital 4 days and still cannot get the adhesive from heart monitor off my skin. Is there an easy way?

Hi @zanne welcome to Connect. It must be so frustrating having the adhesive not go away.
I wanted to share this article from the American Nurse Association in hopes that the information it contains could help you remove the adhesive: https://www.americannursetoday.com/adhesive-removal/
Hi yes after a long hospital stay there can be alot. But i remember one of the drs or nurses not sure which brought in some adhesive removal pads and they worked after a few tries.
Cooking oil usually works.

Worked great and moisturized my skin at the same time!
Thank you for the tip!

1 ReactionMy file is noted at Mayo Clinic to use a prep liquid (it’s in a packaged pad) before using medical or IV tape, etc on me. (after surgery, medical tape was removed from the surgical site & ripped off a layer of my skin!) Also they use an adhesive loosening spray, or packaged pad when removing adhesives. I have thin skin after several years of Prednisone use…and now also as a part of normal aging. I bought some of both on Amazon, and use it at home; in a pinch an alcohol pad (like what is used for injections) works as well. Even though my Mayo file is noted, I always ask when in the hospital or medical office! (“SENSI CARE” is the adhesive remover spray I purchase through Amazon.)
