@eaa2025 and most importantly, how is he feeling now? Do you feel like things are now going in a better direction?
I want to comfort you and let you know that my first and second year had some challenges (active CMV, BK virus, etc) but after that early time period of getting my immune suppression meds adjusted, I am incredibly grateful to be enjoying my trouble-free life with my new kidney. I am confident the same will be true for your husband. You sound like a wonderfully competent caregiver that is doing everything correctly!

2 ReactionsAwee well thank you, that is very kind, he's in the meh stage, tired, yet keeps active in the garden and tinkering, im not at the point where I feel things are going in a better direction but I am hopeful this test will give us some answers, I will post the outcome, if anything else they will read about it here and possibly help someone else that may be experiencing the same or similar issues! That's great to hear you're doing wonderful, oh and it is not the Mayo Clinic that we are with!

1 Reaction@eaa2025 Yes, please post the test results when you get them. Did they tell you when they may be available?
Also, when your husband is gardening does he wear an N95 mask? There are some forms of mold and fungi in soil that he may not want to expose himself to. (And depending where you live, there may be other things in the soil). Now that he's transplant, he needs to be extra careful.
I also wanted to point out that it is super important to wear an N-95 mask when gardening as the spores can be dangerous for anyone with a transplant. I always remind my husband to wear one if he is working in the garden. Especially if soil is being moved, replenished etc but even weeding you need to wear that mask.

2 ReactionsI most definitely will do that, test is 8-7 and 8-8, it's a two part test, yes he's very careful especially when out in the garden or public, he rarely goes out in public!
Thank you, yes we are aware, he is extra cautious and covers up from the sun, almost zero social life, so hopefully this wbcs test he's having done will give us an answer!
@eaa2025
You really educated me. I never heard of a WBC scan before. I am looking forward (with you!) to the results.
Was this test recommended by Infectious Disease at your local hospital or transplant center? Is it being performed at your local hospital?
It was recommended by the local infectious disease dr, however the test itself is going to be at the out of state center/hospital with his care team. I tell ya, the 7th and 8th can't come come fast enough lol

3 Reactions@eaa2025 I am happy to hear that the WBC scan test is being performed at your husband's transplant center. It sounds like you have a very knowledgeable Infectious Disease doctor at your local hospital. Now I can't wait for the 7th and 8th too! ❤️

1 ReactionHi @eaa2025
I hope all is well. I am just checking in. Did everything go well with your husband's wbc scan? How long does he need to wait for his results?
