Reclast side effects
Does anyone have a solution to combat Reclast side effects. I had the infusion a year and a half ago and the side effects started shortly after I had the infusion. I still have weak legs, swelling in feet, pain in bones, dizziness (serious dizziness), cold sweats, tired all the time and nervous twitching in bones. Any suggestions?

I had an hour IV hydration along with my own hydration the day before, day of and day after. My partial dose was infused over an hour. I took tylenol. I had a fever for 5 days, and some pins and needles for a couple of weeks, but nothing like what you describe. The protocol I described was to address short term effects and protect kidneys, but not sure what can be done for longer term effects. Have you discussed alternatives with your doctor, or treatment options for what you are suffering?
I just had another Reclast infusion last month and have had them once per year for the last 5 years. Have had no side effects from Reclast but several from Zytiga and now Nubeqa. I workout almost every day and walk or ride 2 to 3 miles 5 days a week.
I had the same side effects. Several times I thought I was going to die. I hurt all over as well, but never got dizzy. I am functional, but I know I would be better had I not had Reclast!
I ordered chlorophyll. It is mint flavored. Mix with water and drink. It cleans cells and works on whole body. I use a heating pad often. I had my infusion about three years ago. It was a poison to my body and I will never take it again.
@ dingus & @heartfelt70 you are the ones I've been searching for! I've been thinking It was just me. I had my 2nd Reclast infusion on 6/10/24. I had decided not to take it due to the side effects I had with the 1st infusion but in the end I allowed my endocrinologist to talk me into it. I'm so regretting that now. I'm having generalized joint pain, worse in my hips and knees so bad that I can't sleep most nights. I'm having problems with ambulation as well. I'm almost positive it's the Reclast. These issues are relatively new for me and have now been going on for about 5 weeks. I talked to the endocrinologist a couple days ago and she states that it is not the Reclast and I should go see my primary care doc. Very discouraging but not surprised at her response. Where did you find the chlorophyll @heartfelt70? Thanks for your posts!
Wow! Thanks everybody for your comments. I had the same response from my doctor, "It's not the Reclast. Go see your primary care doc." My primary care doc just gives me a blank stare. How can you get help when no doctor will at least entertain the thought that it might be the Reclast!! I'm going to another endocrinologist on Monday. I'll see how that goes. In the meantime I'm going to try walking, a heating pad and chlorophyll. And, yes, where do you find chlorophyll? Does it require a prescription?
@dingus Please let us know what your new endocrinologist says. I would expect a similar response because they (most docs) are so indoctrinated by "the system" but would like to know!
I wish doctors would google side effects! A pharmacist might be better to talk to 🙂
Yes, I will post after my doctor appointment on Monday.
The side effects people are reporting due to Reclast are just frightening. It seems very difficult to determine what percent of people get these long term effects but even if it's a small percentage it's still awful for those that get them. There is a Reclast Support Group on Facebook that has similar conversations and maybe you might find possible solutions there. Good luck on recovering soon!
I had very severe reactions to Reclast. The FDA insert said to expect some joint pain 2-3 days after, which I had. Then, things were ok for about a week and a half. Then, one morning, I woke up in severe joint pain ALL OVER! It was so bad, I could not get out of bed. Called my endocrinologist and of course, she said she’s never heard of this. I read the FDA Drug insert for Reclast and yes, there were a percentage of patients with this severe joint pain following the IV Infusion. All I can say is I will never, ever take that infusion again!
I believe each one of you saying you had pain after this infusion. It’s poisonous!
