Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More

Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.

Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.

Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!

I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

Thanks @gingerw As I said, it was mainly the oatmeal I wasn't sure about. I think I may make this tomorrow. I prefer ground turkey for tacos but haven't used it for much else.

@contentandwell When I make a meatloaf I will often combine the oatmeal with some Ritz crackers for binding. It gives a little more flavor to the dish.

Don't you find oatmeal rather bland? I would think panko would do the job!

@hopeful33250 I used crushed up Ritz crackers for a topping on baked fish. That might be good in the oatmeal too.

@merpreb Yep, oatmeal by itself is bland but with all of the other flavors, I think it would be good.

Going to add turkey to my shopping list now. 😉

@merpreb oatmeal is like tofu it can take on the flavors of surrounding materials. I like the texture of oatmeal rather than bread crumbs!

Is the turkey to put on your oatmeal. I perhaps missed something.

@merpreb. Hey girl you must have missed my recipe for oatmeal with 1 square of baker’s chocolate, peanut butter and sliced banana. I call it my oatmeal sundae. Could go all out with whipped cream and a cherry on top!!

I always use ground turkey. With enough spices and seasonings it works. More expensive too these days. Yes, the oatmeal sundae is a healthy indulgence without the toppings. 😉
