Reading fingernail drug test

Posted by jessicacov21122 @jessicacov21122, 6 days ago

I was court ordered to have a fingernail drug test done recently. It goes back 6 month and I haven't used any drugs at all since January 5th I was a very heavy oxycodone user and weed smoker but did dabble in methamphetamine sometimes including January 4th but not a heavy user of that drug. I knew it was possible I could fail for all of these things since it's not quite been 6 months. I did get my results today and only failed for meth and Marijuana but didn't for opioid. I'm not sure if what the numbers say on it are saying I've recently used meth when I know I haven't used any drugs not even weed in almost 6 months now. I'm just wondering if somebody can help me read these test results and explain to me if it's looking to say I had high levels of meth in my test? The results read positive for methamphetamine with a quantitation 1890pg/mg and a confirmation limit of 100pg/mg.

Are these levels high for someone who hasn't used this drug in almost 6 months.

I've never even heard of a fingernail test! This has to be a new thing. Make them do it again or a hair follicle if you know it is a wrong reading!

@jessicacov21122 I took a look at the fingernail drug testing info on this laboratory site:

It appears that nail drug testing can detect use for as long as 8 months, which would go back to October. Even a six month look-back from this week would put you in late December, so if you were still using then, that's what is being detected.
