Radiation treatment with endorectal balloons

Has anyone with hemorrhoids had radiation treatment (proton or photon) with endorectal balloons instead of Spaceoar gel? Experience?

I had the Space Oar. I did see the prep for the ballons as they get ready to next patient when my radiation was done.

I did have a probe (ballon) inserted during MRI and went okay until the end and got very painful. It is cause some damage as I was on table long after I should have gotten off. Problem was there was a bubble in the ballon and the radiologist had to be called to verify could continue with scan. That took another 30 minutes.

I should have been off table at 45 minutes and did not get off until 2 hours later. That caused some issues with the ballon being in that long.

Merwether: I did not have hemorrhoids and had spaceoar. If I had, or have to do it again, I would consider transperineal inserted bioptotect. They claim 18mm of protection between the prostate and the rectum. That’s a big deal for all forms of radiation. Here is their website:
