R-ALA and Magnesium
Are there any absorption issues when Taking Magnesium Glycenate and R-ALA supplements? Is any type of timing or spacing apart required?

I find it very unclear which supplements and at what dose may be helpful for Idiopathic.
Hard to find that specific info and guidance.

Totally understand. I am Idiopathic and taking R-ala, benfotiamine, magnesium and B12. Not noticing big difference. Optimistically may be slowing progression at best. Have appt at Duke Neurology Clinic in November. Will stay with current routine until then.
I have been taking R-ALA for a couple of years now as recommended by my endocrinologist
My PCP recommended coconut oil as well. I found R-ALA in a lozenge with coconut oil. A little pricey (abt $30 a mnth) on TikTok. I take 600mg (3 lozenges) in the morning and 600mg in the evening. I have a sense that it is helping but can't put my finger on it.
I also take magnesium glycinate (400mg gummy an hour before bedtime. It does seem to help me sleep.

1 ReactionAla, magnesium, b12, omega 3, acetyl-L-carnitine, vitamin d is what I take. Pretty sure they dont do anything as Ive gotten worse. I cant afford them anyway so once I run out I wont be buying them anymore. Then I will know if they did anything once I stop. I read more people saying they arent sure if they do anything. I figure if they actually did something I would KNOW and I would be back at work, not walking with a cane, a leg brace, losing function in my arms at 48 but that is not the case…..
Edit - I just noticed the magnesium I have is magnesium bisglycinate. I did take glycinate before but I feel the same on both.
