PVC'S HCM

Do any of you ladies deal with alot of PVC'S during the perimenopause stage of life? What can be done if you have HCM? Can they give you estrogen therapy to help?

Hello @kerileea, I'm happy you are here on Mayo Connect, welcome! I found this article from NCBI you may find interesting: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov › pmc › articles › PMC8617862.
It talks about perimenopausal women and the effects of E2 and PVCs. It's rather inconclusive, however, but still interesting.
We can't offer medical advice here on Connect, but we can share experiences and what has worked or did not work for us. I was on a beta blocker, then a calcium channel blocker, then back on a beta blocker, and diltiazem and Disopyramide. None of them worked for me. I had PVCs, SVTs, pauses, a huge MVP/murmur, at all times of the day or night. I was also perimenopausal during all this and was on hormone replacement. It was bio-identical hormone therapy, but it did not do anything for my heart issue at all. That is not to say it could not help someone else, just did not help me. I had to have open heart surgery/septal myectomy, and that gave me my life back. For me, the estradiol was a life saver, but only because of the hot flashes. Have you asked your cardiologist about this? I would start there. How long have you known you have HCM? Is your cardiologist familiar with HCM and treatment options?
