Pulse Field Ablation
My husband has had 2 ablations and has been in AFIB for 2 years. Numerous cardio versions which did not last long. I am trying to gather information about the new pulse field ablation and wondering the long term success rate. Tx.

It was approved last spring, and it has a modestly greater success rate, mostly due to a lesser amount of collateral damage to surrounding tissues. The real success of catheter ablation lies in the skill and experience of the EP, and his/her success in isolating the re-entrant focus or foci. That is to say, a skilled electrophysiologist using the MAZE procedure, cryoablation, RF ablation, or PFA will have about the same success, give or take a few percentage points. Or, the right tools count for something, but more-so is the knowledge of how to apply them.
