@connie1018
Do you mean what symptoms with psoriatic arthritis are indicated for treatment with bioglogics?
I'm not sure about your question but will tell you that I have had disabling autoimmune illness(es) for 30 years. The diagnosis has changed with time and depends on the rheumatologist I see. Almost like a personality quirk(!)
For the past 10 years I have felt the most stable on biologic infusions for RA; remicade, simponi aria.
However about 2 years ago my symptoms started changing again; rashes, eczema, skin discoloration, worsening back pain, not only hands and feet symptoms I've known with RA.
What made me look twice at your post is my doctor just told me, Maybe we've been treating your psoriatic arthritis as rheumatoid arthritis for 10 years. He said this because my diagnosis is RA-factor seronegative.
He said he'd treat PsA with the same biologic for now.
I think the main thing I've learned is how autoimmune illness is not always easy to diagnose, or treat. I think your question should be on a note that you take with you when you go see a rheumatologist! I hope you find what you enjoy in life and get a break from illness. This is the only way I've maintained my sanity.
Thank you for sharing your insights with me.
Know your inflammatory test results and check periodically.
I chose Humira a TNF blocker but there are other biologics.
I was most comfortable starting a biologic with long term track
record and known side effects. Keep in mind the need to control
inflammation and symptoms. Have your cardiac risk assessment
done and make sure your doctors communicate.
