Prostate problem but not cancer "yet"

Posted by casd57 @casd57, Jun 13 8:00am

After 3 biopsies and one being a MIR computer directed one...No Cancer.
PSA....rose up to 16 and back down 10 and now 11 but no cancer..
Taking only Finasteride 5mg...
My doctor has seem to lost interest..last visit he only asked questions...no prostate exciam or anything...and "See You In a Year"

Should I change Doctors or sit and wait?

One last item that I'm told could influence my PSA numbers is Arthritis.. Which I have in my Hip
Anyone else hear of that ?

In 2016 I had a biopsy and MRI because my doctor found I had an enlarged prostate and 4.3 PSA. No cancer found. In 2023 I decide to change urologists and had a 2nd MRI: no cancer. My PSA was now 7.7. I was unsure about another biopsy but finally agreed. Cancer in two cores; one at 3+4(which showed at 4+5 after removal and pathology report). I’m no doctor, but your numbers are higher than mine were and I would encourage seeing another doctor. Best wishes.

Good move. I attempted to post my experience yesterday, but it would not go through. Bottom line second opinion essential, and preferably in another health care system.
