My husband had severe COVID in late Oct/early November, and now his hair is falling out rapidly. Has anyone else experienced this, and did it grow back?

I was in the hospital 5 days back in October with covid as well. I am recently noticing that I have thinning hair. I also went through a drastic diet change and went a few weeks with little to no meat. I am not sure which to attribute it to. Not as quickly as it sounds like for your husband but happening gradually.
Mine is finally growing back. Tell your husband to go to a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss.
Yes, I experienced the same. A month or 2 after having had COVID I began to lose my hair
I started losing hair about 3 months after I had Covid. I starting taking 10 mg of biotin daily and within a week or so I saw an improvement.

He went to a dermatologist and they recommended propecia, but once you start you have to be on that for life. Did yours recommend something different?
Thank you for the advice, we will look into that
Yes, I am on a half dose of finasteride. I will continue to take it – also, has positive effects for a bladder issue I have.
I was in the hospital November 2021 for 21 day. I loss my hair. It would come out in handfuls. I had to just cut my hair short. It is growing back. It’s about 4 inches or so. It’s darker and curly. It very upsetting.
I experienced severe hair loss and breakage post Covid (I also had one vaccination at that point). Because of the "breakage," which was 1-2" from my scalp, I asked for iron and thyroid tests. My iron was way below normal and my ferritin was on the line of demarcation between low and normal. I have been taking prescription iron since (April 2021) and my hair has begun to improve but it is not yet back to normal.
Yes it will grow back and it should stop falling out as well.
