Post Covid Care

Posted by meleana808 @meleana808, 1 day ago

I have bronchiectasis with Pseudomanosis
Well after all these years of not getting Covid. We got it on a trip to Tucson. We wore masks on all plane travel but somehow 2 days before leaving we got sick
I would say we were lucky did not get super sick. Infact we thought it was the flu. I am 10 days out from getting sick.

Anyways, we are on the healing side of it
My energy level is low. Doesn't take much to exhaust me, breathing is labored and shallow. I started my vest, nebbing my albuteral & 3% saline yesterday (i can't handle 7% yet). In the past 18mo I do not produce sputum and pulmonologist does not prescribe anything to help loosen mucus. I was on tobramycin for the pseudomanosis but got severe ringing in my ears so this was stopped with nothing added to help kill this junk. CT scan in June showed I had mucus is my lungs. Dr just said continue with vest and nebulizing
Doing ACTS after albuteral. This exhausted me but I am trying
Drinking plenty liquids

Pulmonologist has been informed of covid diagnosis and my current breathing & tight chest

Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Have you tried Mucinex or NAC supplement to help loosen the mucus?

Yes been on mucinex 1200 x2 times a day for 3 days no loosening or sputum production, upper chest still feels tight & heavy. Also suspect I have respiratory reflux. Have ENT appt on Tuesday

I’ve found that NAC really helps to think phlegm from the lungs.

When I first purchased it in a health food store to clear mucus related to bronchiectasis I was told that during the early years of COVID, people bought NAC to clear mucus related to Covid respiratory infections. You can buy it online as well.
