Post Covid 1 month
I had Covid for the first time the beginning of February. I thought I got over it then experienced UTI, Influenza type symptoms the 3rd week of February everything was negative. “Just a virus” is what it was labeled as. Then this past Sunday I woke up with vomiting and diarrhea, fever ended up going to the ER that evening I felt so sick. They did labs, CT of my belly, UA then basically again said it was a “gastrointestinal virus”. I slept all day today and just still feel like my body is saying something is not right. I just looked up the post/ long Covid symptoms and am beginning to wonder if this is what’s going on. Anyone have thoughts on this? I am not usually a sick person.

Sorry you’re not feeling well. I can only tell you what my experience is with Long Covid. I contracted Covid in December of 2022 and my symptoms began about 10 days after the infection. I had stuttering issues, balance issues, terrible fatigue where I’d fall asleep right after I ate, body tremors, high anxiety, sensory issues, brain fog and loss of taste and smell. I still don’t have my taste or smell back, but the other symptoms are subsiding. It doesn’t sound to me like it’s Long Covid, but listen to your body and see your doctor. Wishing you all the best.

3 Reactions@dqsuzie I’m so sorry to read how you’re still struggling. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way.
I am NOT a medical professional, but I’ll share what the doctor at urgent care told me when I tested positive for Influenza A one month to the day after testing positive for COVID in 2022: he said my immune system was shot from the COVID virus, which is why I picked up the flu, despite being recently vaccinated for both (vaxxed in October, COVID in November, flu in December). I was a teacher at the time, and despite going back to masking and cleaning desks after every class, I still got sick because we all know kiddos come to school with fever, and we were all at risk for something.
He advised lots of rest and vitamin supplements. It took me months to fully recover. I mask to this very day in high risk/high density settings, including grocery stores. And sadly, I made the decision to leave the classroom.
I think your immune system is still recovering, and it could take some time. Definitely have a long chat with your primary care doc and any specialists you see so you can fully heal.
COVID isn’t just a respiratory virus. It’s a beast that affects every aspect of our bodies.
Please take good care. Be very good to yourself.
