Possible side effects of Keytruda after kidney cancer surgery

Posted by evilrick @evilrick, 4 days ago

My left kidney and associated adrenal gland were removed on Halloween (my favorite day, and one day after my 77th birthday!), 2025. I started Keytruda that December at three week intervals and it’s scheduled to end in December, 2026. Upcoming scans will determine whether I will continue with immunotherapy. With the exception of an upper body non-itchy rash, I had tolerated it quite well. I have been able to ride bikes and work out, but have lately lost my sense of taste, strength in my left thigh when climbing stairs, numbness in the toes on my left foot and left hand fingers. I’m not trying to complain too much
because others have had worse experiences, but I would like to know if others who have gone through this and experienced no or reduced side effects once treatment has been over for a while. Thanks.
